Renewing Religious Discourse and Its Role in Enhancing Youth Awareness of Contemporary Issues
Under the auspices of Prof Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University; Prof Mohamed Atteya El-Bayoumy, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and under the leadership of Prof Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Latif, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels; with the participation of Dr Waleed Tantawy, Assistant Secretary-General for Education and Student Affairs; and the supervision of Prof Doaa Samir Hizah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, in co-operation with the Cultural Activities Department of the General Administration of Student Welfare, organised a seminar titled “Renewing Religious Discourse and Its Role in Enhancing Youth Awareness of Contemporary Issues” on Sunday, 12 October 2025.
The event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof Mohamed Sabry Saraya, University Student Activities Coordinator; Dr Arwa Ahmed, Faculty Student Activities Coordinator; Mr Ahmed El-Ashry Helal, Director General of Student Welfare; Ms Hala Kamel, Head of Student Welfare at the Faculty; and Ms Reham Abdelkader, Director of the Cultural Activity Department at Mansoura University.
The seminar was delivered by Dr Salem El-Hindawy, Imam and Preacher at the Ministry of Awqaf, who discussed the importance of instilling religious discourse amongst university students, presented examples from the Prophet’s Sunnah to inspire hope in young people, and explored effective ways to engage with students on religious matters. The session concluded with an open dialogue with the attendees.
The cultural activity at the Faculty was supervised by Mr Hany Saad El-Din, with the participation of the Students’ Union President, Mostafa Nasr, and Vice President, Khaled El-Qattawy.
