Seminar on Promoting National Values and a Sense of Belonging among Youth in Light of Political, Economic, and Social Developments Organised by the Crisis Management Unit at the Faculty, in collaboration with the State Information Service – Nile Media Cen

Under the auspices of Prof Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University; Prof Diaa Rashwan, Head of the State Information Service; Prof Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and led by Prof Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
The event was also supported by Dr Ahmed Yehia Magly, Head of the Internal Media Sector; supervised by Prof Doaa Samir Hizah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Ms Nahla Mohamed Diab, Director of the Nile Media Centre in Mansoura (State Information Service). The seminar was organised by Assistant Lecturer Basma Mohamed Shaheen, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management, Occupational Safety and Health Unit, along with her team.

The seminar, titled “Promoting National Values and a Sense of Belonging among Youth in Light of Political, Economic, and Social Developments,” commenced with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur'an by student Mohamed Emad Mohamed Mohamed from the third year of the Department of Tourism Studies.

Prof Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif, Dean of the Faculty

Major General Akram Abdel Aziz, former Assistant Minister of Interior and former Head of National Security in Dakahlia.
Prof Mohamed Yehia Gheida, Professor and Head of the Department of Sports Movement Sciences, Faculty of Physical Education, Mansoura University, and Secretary-General of the Leaders Foundation.

 

The seminar was attended by Prof Mohamed Abdel Fattah Zohry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, as well as numerous faculty members, academic staff from all scientific departments, heads of administrative sections, representatives of the administrative body, and a large turnout of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The discussions highlighted the distinction between citizenship and belonging, emphasising that the supremacy of the rule of law is a fundamental pillar without which proper citizenship cannot exist. The speakers underscored that national interest and development must take precedence above all else, and that the law is the real guarantor for societal development, stability, and the dissemination of security and justice. It also plays a key role in boosting the efficiency and progress of work.
Students were urged to love their country, protect its resources, counter those who threaten its security and stability, and resist the spread of rumours, especially digital misinformation. The seminar called on students to contribute to nation-building across various fields, instil confidence and optimism within themselves and the university community, and equip themselves with knowledge to confront present challenges.
