Scientific Trip for "Tourism Guidance" Students from Mansoura Faculty of Tourism to Luxor and Aswan
Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif, Dean of the Faculty, and the leadership of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah Zohry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mona Ezz Ali, Head of the Tourism Guidance Department, the scientific trip was supervised by:
Dr. Ali Hassan Eid, Lecturer of Egyptology at the Tourism Guidance Department.
Ms. Omnia Abdullah El-Morsi, Assistant Lecturer at the Tourism Guidance Department.
Ms. Hala Ahmed Basal, Teaching Assistant at the Tourism Guidance Department.
Dr. El-Sayed Abu El-Soud, Sports Activity Specialist at the Student Welfare Department.

The scientific trip, organised by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Mansoura University, began on the evening of Friday, 6 December 2024, and continued until Tuesday, 11 December. The trip included students from the Tourism Guidance Department who visited the historical cities of Luxor and Aswan.
Trip Programme Highlights
Day 1: Saturday, 7 December
A tour of Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, and Abu Haggag Mosque.
Attendance of the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple.
Free time in Luxor city for exploration.
Day 2: Sunday, 8 December
A morning visit to the Valley of the Kings at 8:30 AM, exploring tombs such as:
Ramses III, Ramses IV, Ramses IX, Merenptah, and Tutankhamun.
A visit to Deir el-Bahari and the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, with an explanation of surrounding monuments like the Temple of Mentuhotep II.
A visit to the funerary temple of Ramses III at Medinet Habu, where students engaged actively with the historical content.
A stop at the Colossi of Memnon with explanations about the remnants of Amenhotep III's funerary temple.
Evening visits included:
Luxor Museum and the Mummification Museum at 7 PM.
Free exploration of the Nile Corniche and Luxor markets.
Day 3: Monday, 9 December
Transfer to Aswan, with visits to:
Edfu Temple.
Philae Temple.
Free time at the Aswan Market and Corniche.
Day 4: Tuesday, 10 December
Visits to:
Nubian Museum.
The Unfinished Obelisk.
Qubbat Al-Hawa (Tombs of the Nobles).
Botanical Island.
The Nubian House.
Final free time at the Aswan Market.
Departure back to Mansoura in the evening.
The trip concluded successfully, providing Tourism Guidance students with a rich educational experience in Luxor and Aswan, enhancing their understanding of ancient Egyptian history and monuments.
